What we Do
The Williamson Tea Foundation funds projects that Williamson Tea undertakes as part of an instinctive commitment to caring for the farms and communities, a passion that has continued for over 150 years and goes far beyond the simple standards set by certification bodies.
Our Foundation invests in social and environmental projects that aim to improve the farms to the benefits of both those that grow our tea and the land on which it grows. Whilst housing, water, sanitation and provision of renewable power are just some of the projects that the Foundation undertakes it is health care and education that continue to be the key focus and are provided to thousands of farmers, their families and children, helping to combat the challenges felt by rural communities in a modern age.
As farmers and guardians of the land, the Williamson Tea Foundation also invests in environmental works, wildlife habitat creation, the maintenance and protection of primeval rainforest and our famed ‘monkey corridors’ that allow wildlife to pass through the farms undisturbed. We have planted hundreds of thousands of indigenous trees along water courses and rainfall catchment zones, stabilising soils from erosion and sequestering carbon.
The Williamson Tea Foundation’s aim is that every pack of Williamson Tea should help to sustain communities and ecosystems for generations to come.
